Understanding the Role of Nutrition, Protein and Macronutrients in a Healthy Diet

Role of Nutrition, Protein and Macronutrients in a Healthy Diet

Food provides the mixture of nutrients that the body needs, not just for fitness and well-being, but for life itself. A balanced diet that includes whole grains and plant-based proteins is ideal.

The three main classes  of food are protien , carbhohydrates and fats. They are macronutrients which gives energy and basic building blocks needs for growth and maintenance. To have a healthy lifestyle we should choose our macronutrients wisely.

PROTEIN: Protein is a crucial nutrient that supports the body's muscle and tissue health.

The human body is made up of protien all the structural parts of the body cells that are prevented to collapsing .

Every protien consisits of a strings of buliding blocks called amino acids, they are 22 amino acids in which 14 are formed within the body, remaining should be supplied from animal and plant source.

We require 0.8gm of protein per 1 kg of body weight as the RDA. Including various sources of protein in your diet ensures balanced nutrition.

CARBOHYDRATES:

Carbohydrates are most underrarted of the macronutrients. They are called as carbs.

They are the primary energy source and help to control the breakdown of protein and protect the body against toxins. Including whole grains and unsaturated fats can support these functions.

Glucose is one among the carbohydrates know as monosaccharides

Polysaccharides,in which starch is most important.it contain many monosaccharides.molucules and are break down to two aor mkore simple glucose.they are called as complex carbohydraes.

They are found in fruits, vegetables and grains.they are having high nutritional value like protien, vitamins and minerals for energy.

They take a long time to digest than simple ones. Choose polysaccharides over monosaccharides as part of your balanced diet.

FATS:

Fats are most essential source of energy but too much of wrong kind of fat can be bad for health. Incorporating unsaturated fat into a balanced diet has substantial health benefits.

All the fats contain long chain fatty acids and they carry vitamins A, D, E, and K. They are called fat-soluble vitamins. Choosing plant-based sources of fats can enhance the overall nutrition.

There are 2 fats: saturated and unsaturated. Unsaturated fats, often found in plant-based foods, offer numerous health benefits.

More saturated fat causes an high level of cholestreol in blood stream which leads to coronary heart diesase.

All natural fats are a mixture of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, but generally, animal fats are more highly saturated and vegetable fats tend to be unsaturated. Opting for vegetable fats can provide numerous health benefits as part of a balanced diet.

Fish oil are highly unsaturated fatty acids, while coconut oil and vegetable oil is high in saturated fat.

CHOLESTEROL:

Cholesterol is a complex waxy substance that is an essential component of the walls of body cells, it is also essential to make vitamin D, hormones, bile acids, and the nervous system. Including whole grains in your diet can support these bodily functions.

It is carried by lipoproteins where protein to which lipid or fat is attached to the bloodstream. The type of dietary fat consumed can influence how lipoproteins function.

Cholestrol is presenty in food, but only 15%  ofvall blood cholestrol comes from the diet, even a drastic cut of cholestrol in diet wont give you much difference, because most of the cholestrol is made by liver.

Lowering of all kinds of fats will help to reduce cholesterol levels, especially saturated fats. Lots of saturated fats will encourage the liver to pour out large amounts of cholesterol. Opt for unsaturated fats for better health benefits.

The type of lipoprotein on which cholesterol is carried is also an important factor influencing the risk of coronary artery disease. Dietary choices, such as including more unsaturated fats, can affect these lipoprotein levels.

The higher the LDL levels the risk of CAD is high and HDL cholesterol will protect against CAD. A diet rich in unsaturated fat can help improve cholesterol levels.

Aim is to increase the ratio of HDL to LDL cholestrol, through diet and exercise.
